Power Punch/Pupsicles

My original plan was to freeze these as pupsicles but Kirby was hot and thirsty now. It’s always important to keep a dog hydrated so I poured some in a bowl which he greedily lapped up. Hence, my Power Pupsicles just became a Power Punch. I did make a few Power Pupsicles.

These are some of the most potent ingredients for a vibrant and active body. Dogs need hydration especially in the summer months, and while water will do, why not raise the bar both in flavor and health benefits. Actually, my body can use a shot of antioxidants too so looks like we will be sharing this punch!

The Canine Chef Cookbook (Kirby the Dorkie) Yields: 5 Cups

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 3 minutes
Freeze Time: 2-4 hours

Nutrition facts: Calories: 40 per 1/2 cup
Calories from fat: 2

Ingredients:

• 1 cup decaffeinated green tea
• 1 - 13.5 oz can lite coconut milk
• 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
• 2 bananas
• 2 cups blueberries, frozen

Instructions:

1. Brew one cup of decaffeinated green tea. Caffeine is toxic to dogs so be diligent about this! Set in the refrigerator to cool down. You can use instant green tea as long as there are no added ingredients.
2. Place the remaining ingredients in a blender and puree.
3. Stir in the cooled green tea.
4. Serve as a drink or freeze in small silicon molds or ice cube trays.

This will keep in the refrigerator for about a week and in the freezer for up to three months.
