Champion Fish Chews
/I wanted to make something special to celebrate Kirby's fun win at the doggie pool party and then let him post it on his Facebook Page so this is my recap. Kirby simply loves fish so I vary it up with different seasonings tailored to his preferences. If your dog has allergies to chicken then this is a healthy, low fat alternative.

Ingredients
- 1 lb Tilapia
- 2 tablespoons extra light olive oil
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon dill seed
- 1 teaspoon chopped parsley
Instructions:
- Thaw out a 1 lb package of Tillapia by placing them in one layer on a baking sheet. I stock up when they are on sale. Any fish will do but Kirby's fave is Tillapia..
- Make sure they are deboned then cut into strips with kitchen shears which is easiest when still frozen.
- Place the thawed fish in large bowl and add the remaining ingredients mixing to thoroughly coat the fish.
- Place in a single layer on a foil covered baking sheet. Pour remaining juices over fish.
- Bake at 200 degrees for one hour.
- The fish is cooked when it easily flakes so go ahead and feed a small meal to your pooches.
- You can continue to bake the fish in the oven on low heat for several hours (turning over once) until dried or move the fish to your dehydrator. Be sure to line with parchment paper or wax paper for easy cleanup. When the pieces are somewhat dry, remove the paper for quicker drying.
Baked or dehydrated chews are ready when golden brown, dry and hard. Believe me they smell as yummy as they look!
They can be stored in an airtight container for about a week or in the freezer for three months.
Let the baking sheet cool and then let the dogs lick up all those yummy juices before throwing the foil away.
Kirby and Shelby were quite happy to be the taste testers and gave them eight paws up and two wags!
