Howloween Costume Review & Giveaway
/Last year Kirby wore a handmade costume, a clown, to the local Halloween event. He was cute but nothing special compared to all the fancy, store bought costumes the other dogs (and a bunny) were parading around in. So I was really excited when Jenny from Poochie Heaven contacted me about doing a review and giveaway of one of their adorable costumes. There were so many choices it took me two days just to narrow down to four costumes.
Since I couldn't decide which one, I handed the decision over to Kirby's Facebook fans who chose the Alpine Boy Lederhosen followed by the Gangster! (I still so want to do the drag queen but very few saw the humor in it). I emailed Jenny with our choice and Kirby's measurements and waited with great anticipation.
I was not disappointed! My little munchkin is beyond cute in this costume! I was worried about the fit since he has both a long back and broad girth. It was almost perfect. The shirt and pants are actually one piece so all I had to do was tack the pants up a little where they meet the shirt which was an easy fix. The outfit goes on easy with three buttons to fasten which I actually prefer to velcro that sometimes catches on his fur. There's plenty of room at the neck and, since his back feet just slip into the pants, it isn't binding or uncomfortable for him at all. The felt hat needed a little pressing but fit perfectly. It easily stayed on as he pranced around the backyard modeling for my camera.
The quality is evident in the stitching and details - the cute suspenders, the fancy applique daisies, the red feather on the hat! It's properly proportioned for a comfortable fit ensuring Kirby has a fun time. In fact, after we did pictures he forgot he was wearing it as he ran around the yard playing with our current foster.
