Yogurt Pupsicles

Yogurt provides probiotics promoting healthy digestion, eliminating unhealthy bacteria and providing healthy bacteria, it also fights such nasty germs as Salmonella typhimurium and Staphyloccus aureus.  I use plain or vanilla yogurt - check the ingredients listed on the packaging to avoid excessive sugars and unnecessary or harmful ingredients.

#1

  • 32 oz vanilla low fat yogurt
  • 1 mashed banana
  • 2 Tbsp peanut butter
  • 2 Tbsp honey
Thoroughly mix all ingredients. Spoon into ice trays and freeze.  (I like to use a small silicone muffin pan - they pop right out)  Once frozen remove individual pupsicles and store in ziplock bag in freezer.

#2

  •  32 oz plain yogurt
  • 1 cup pureed fruit  (these are made with strawberries)
Kirby also loves these made by adding 1 cup natural peanut butter instead of fruit!

#3

  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 Tbsp blackstrap molasses
Mix together and spoon into silicon molds.  Let freeze and serve.  These frozen treats are yummy gooey messy!

To find your furkid's favorite flavors, make small batches starting with 2 cups plain or vanilla yogurt and experimenting by adding different flavors of meats, vegetables, or fruits.  You can even use baby food which is already pureed.
